5. Green Back 1907 Series

This is a group of cards with a back design in blue-green ink.  The back is similar to but not identical to the “2. Moonlight Series”, identical to “6. Greetings from Series”, and similar but not identical to the “9. 300,000 Series”.

Series Contents: The cards I have seen are drawn from the 48,000 and 53,000 negative numbers but I do not know which of them were used in this series.

Date Published:  The earliest postmark date I have seen is 8 July, 1907.

Printing: These were printed by multicolour photolithography with a black halftone layer superimposed.

Identification: On the front, most of the cards have the usual Valentine logo of JV in a circle, beside a negative number, but it is absent on a few.  On the back there is “POST CARD” in a large blue-green font.  Below that there is text “This space may be used for communication” and “The Address only to be written here”.   Along the left margin is “Valentine’s Series”.
