This was Walch’s third series of picture postcards. They are undivided back cards, identical in format to the 1901 series, except that the captions on the front of the cards are all in upper case, not mixed upper and lower case as in the 1901 series.
Series Contents and Date Published: This series was announced in Walch’s Literary Intelligencer of December, 1902 (Note 1). They said:
“WALCH’S NEW SERIES of TWELVE for ONE SHILLING. Postage, 2d.

Eight of the twelve cards were reprinted from the 1901 series, and four new cards added.

The actual captions printed on the cards are a bit different to those announced in Walch’s Literary Intelligencer. The exact captions, with capitalisation exactly as on the cards, are thus:

Identification: These cards are identical in format to the 1901 Series, except that the captions on the front of the cards are all in upper case, not mixed upper and lower case as in the 1901 series. The table below compares the captions of the two series. But the table shows that there are three cards that cannot be identified as 1901 or 1902 by the captions: MOUNT WELLINGTON, CAPE RAOUL, FERN TREE BOWER. These will have to be distinguished by postmark dates.
