Postcard, “Parliament House Hobart.”

Publisher: McVilly & Little, Hobart, 1910-1914

Photographer: Unknown

Manufacture: Printed by Emil Pinkau & Co, Leipzig, Saxony. The printers code NGTT in the stamp box indicates it was printed before 1914.

Usage: Posted to Chicago, USA, with 1½ penny stamp. Postmark date appears to be 6 July [19]25. Crypic numbers and dates on message side, as well as rubber-stamped name of sender: Miss E. Burke, 119 Argyle St, Hobart. Miss Burke was probably a member of a postcard exchange club, the annotations relating to that.

Remarks: In 2013 I came across a shop in Glenorchy, Hobart, that had recently purchased a quantity of Subscript "a" series cards, with multiple copies of this Parliament House card and several others in the series. They were all unused, and looked as if they had just been taken out of their original wrapping, after about 100 years.  They were selling them for $1 each!
