Remarks:  This card is one of those competing to be no. 1 in the A.B. Series - the other one labelled as no. 1 in the series is of Buckland Church.

This card was probably a trial for the A.B. Series. It is different in layout to the A.B. Series cards, and almost identical to some cards of the  Rose Stereograph Company, with the printed caption on the front and the typical Rose layout design of the back.  Another card, labelled "Ash Bester Series no. 2 Buckland Church" is identical to this is layout. It is likely that Ash Bester had Rose print these two cards as a trial for the A.B. Series, but then decided to go with printing the series themselves, with hand-written captions.
