Postcard, Tasmania, "Eden Holme" on Hebe Reef, Jan. 7th, 1907."

Publisher: H.W. Grattan, Launceston.

Photographer: H.W. Grattan

Printer: printed by halftone, printer unknown.

Usage: Unused

Remarks: The Hebe reef is about 5 km off the heads of the Tamar River; Launceston is some 20 miles or so up the river. The reef has been a hazard for shipping since the earlist days, with the ship "Hebe" being wrecked on it in 1808.  The  barque "Eden Holme" ran aground on it in 1907, and could not be saved. Henry Grattan, a photographer and postcard publisher in Launceston, must have been among the first to reach and photograph the ship.
